Where Were You On 9/11/2001 When The World Stopped Turning?
Remembering 9/11
Although this amazing, resilient, Nation bounced back as we have always done and will always do, with spirited resolution, an insatiable zest for life, in unwavering faith, and in our classic, all-American style...
We must never forget what happened to us; the citizens of this Nation, visitors to, and guests of this Nation, on the day, we all became human targets of hate, September 11, 2001!
While many were forever lost to this world, in an instant, on that fateful day, others survived, only to lose their individual battles in time, in the aftermath.
Whether it was from exposure to the toxins in the air that the many heroes were breathing as they worked tirelessly looking for signs of life, an emotional toll which couldn't be overcome, injuries sustained, which never completely healed...
Whatever the case, their fight came to an end, in the aftermath.
Survivors witnessed it firsthand, while the majority of us watched from a distance, as heroes... so many heroes, rushed in, without a moment's hesitation, straight into the danger zone!
The world watched helplessly, sensing in that same moment, that this was the last time we would see these brave individuals.
Their very last acts on earth,, naturally, heroic!
While many witnessed the horror firsthand, the rest of us and the rest of the world watched, as the despicable acts of cowards, played out; the sights the sounds, and for those still there among it... the smells!
The images forever etched in our minds, of people jumping, in order to escape the burning infernos!
The images of people running for their lives, as large looming, eerie masses of smoke rapidly encroached on them, as if seeking to devour them!
On that horrific day and the days which followed, there was a turning to loved ones for solace and for a reassurance that we were going to be okay!
Reassurance that this was not going to be the way we went out!
This would not be how it ended for the United States of America!
Many of us knew, in an instant, that we would not go down without a fight.
We never had before, we'd not start now!
Our neighbors were no longer strangers to us!
There was a monumental turning back to God, and it spread throughout this land with a mighty healing force!
While we were connecting and reconnecting, loving and supporting, doing for one another.
We were watching - still,
We were listening - still.
The horrendous images of that day, played and replayed on our television screens throughout the coming days, weeks, and months...
The excruciating sounds of that day were played and replayed over the radio -
and in our minds!
A world full of people, some for the very first time in their lives, clearly understood what pure evil looks like, and what pure evil is capable of
We must never forget all of those innocent lives which were taken from us on that fateful, solemn, horrendous day; so violently, so tragically, so unnecessarily, by the most vile and wicked individuals, outside of hell, capable of such evil acts!
We must never forget that the doers of evil, never tire!
While God is ever present, we must never forget, nor lose sight of what evil is capable of!
We can never let our guard down, not even for an instant!
It would be so much easier for us, to put it out of our minds, pretend it never happened, but we know, that we can never do that!
Proactive vigilance is key; we must continually support the building up of our military, we must continue to elect to Office, those individuals whom have our safety and our best interest at heart, first and foremost.
If they don't, we fire them; they do not get a pass, we must not accept excuses, and there are no second chances!
We must enforce our borders, strengthen our border walls, build them up, not tear them down... and we absolutely must adhere to our immigration laws; we can no longer be so careless and remiss!
We must get back to a 9/12 mentality, when we learned who our neighbors were!
We have to get past petty differences which divide and keep us from talking and communicating...
Being aware of our surroundings, going with our gut and reporting to authorities when we sense something isn't right, is crucial!
I think we've stopped paying attention to that little voice in our head or our gut instinct! These exist for a reason, as a defense mechanism for us all, we can't afford to ignore them!
As of the year of this writing, 2018, we have not forgotten!
Their names are read each and every year on the eleventh day of the ninth month, by their loved ones, whom were left behind...
We must never forget all of those lives taken from us since that solemn day, to evil acts!
Again, comes our reminder, that the doers of evil never tire!
We can't either!
