The Barbary Wars

Khair ed-Din, a Barbary pirate, also known as Barbarossa, was the menace of the Mediterranean Sea in the 1500's.

His Life, his legacy, his blood-thirst, was fixated on attacking Christian ships and towns.

An older brother had preceded him... one could say that it was in their blood!

As the high Admiral of the Turkish Navy, ed-Din did battle with France, Spain, Italy ...

Known by many names, including Captain Red Beard and the Muslim hero - he captured cities, plundered many a shore, enslaved thousands of Christians & attacked many a ship, of other Nations!

The high seas supremacy of the Barbary Coast Pirates, began in the 1500's, and continued on through to the 1800's.

For a time, 1795-1801, a newly formed Nation, the United States of America, had been paying money to the Barbary coast states, for the safe passage of American ships.

U.S. President, Thomas Jefferson, wanted no part in extortion on the high seas... and went to war, to stop it!

First, in Tripoli, Libya, in what came to be known as the first Barbary War.

Later, Algeria challenged the United States, believing America would be easy prey...

This brought on the second Barbary war.

On Guard

Since the 1980's [with skirmishes before that] the U.S. has been involved in conflicts with Muslim-majority countries.

The United States of America has been attacked, on its own soil many times, by the Islamic State, culminating in the worst attack on our Homeland in our history, on 9/11/2001.

Thousands were murdered in the initial attack and thousands more, since, have succumbed to their wounds.

The air they breathed in that day and in the days that followed, and mental and physical scars were just too much to overcome.

The U.S. and NATO forces countered the 9/11 attack, combating al-Qaeda in Afghanistan, that war continued on through 2021.

Before that, in 1990, there was the Persian Gulf War. Kawait, was invaded by Iraq, the U.S. got involved to insure that oil would not be restricted to other countries in the region.

There was the Iraq War, when the U.S. overthrew Saddam Hussein, with Intel of "weapons of mass destruction".

ISIS and al Qaeda have remained a continual threat to our Homeland!

Those of us who have been the most outspoken of the dangers of open borders --- are concerned that this enemy... has crossed our southern border. It was never about Mexicans illegally seeking legitimate work!

Why would we, as a Nation, allow the illegal crossings to continue for so long?

Why were those of us who questioned it... called racist, xenophobic, among other names?

Why [for crying out loud] is I.C.E. berated and attacked for doing their job --- protecting the United States of America, and all of us within!

I will never understand that, but no matter, what's done is done.

I pray for Immigration & Customs Enforcement Agents, for Homeland Security, for Border Agents, the National Guard, and for all working toward a more secure America!

Are We Safe?

On top of the illegal crossings which we would have to be pretty darn gullible to believe didn't also bring in --

those who pray for our demise!

In spite of a large portion of this Country raging over the actions of I.C.E. agents, rather than the incompetence of a weak leader who left us wide open to the possibility of another attack from --

those who pray for our demise!

New York City recently elected a Muslim Mayor!

Dearborn, Michigan has become a haven for Islam.

Minneapolis, Minnesota is another city, playing with fire!

Many Muslims now hold office within the borders of the United States of America.

I don't know that any of them have assimilated....

have embraced Americana, and all which that entails, or

ever get giddy over what it means to be an American!

But I could be wrong.....
